OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES:

Every lesson, every discussion and every idea of ours is governed by our Imāniyāt Guiding Principles:

Ÿ  All conditions are from Allāh – everything that is taught must be brought back to Allāh

Ÿ  The condition of a believer is one of gratitude

Ÿ  ‘Ilm must be coupled with ‘aml – knowledge must be followed with action

Ÿ  Every daily action must be aligned to, and governed by, the Sunnah

Ÿ  Akhlāq – what is our responsibility towards others in all facets of life?

OUR AIM

cropped-Urwah-Academy-Crest.png

Our aim is to move away from the common secularized syllabus content and move towards content infused with Qur'ānic concepts.

Our thematic framework consists of specifically  chosen and all - embracing Qur'ānic themes that present a beginning and end point for every lesson.

These Guiding Themes form the pivot around which the CAPS curriculum themes are centred.

Each lesson is planned around the Qur'ānic Guiding Theme first and then extends into the grade specific curriculum theme.

OUR FOCUS:

Our young ones will begin their morning:

Giving thanks to their Creator.

Learning and internalizing a dua every two weeks that is aligned to the weekly theme.

Using neuroplasticity - doing simple exercises to promote brain health and a growth mindset.

Vocalizing Allah centric affirmations to support their understanding of Allah's qualities.

Learning a beautiful name of Allah every day.

Our learning incorporates:

Brain Breaks - these are simple techniques to allow our students a rests from formal learning.
Challenge Hubs - centers that focus on providing opportunities for our students to challenge their learning capacities by building, painting, wondering, experimenting and creating.

Imaginative Play - this uniquely designed area will allow our learners free reign to role play various tasks and plots in a controlled and safe environment. It entails active engagement and results in joyful discovery.

Thematic approach to lessons

Each CAPS theme is aligned to a Qur'ānic theme that supports the Islāmic Tarbiyya of our students.

Literary Inclusion

Each lesson begins with a story from the Qur'ān, Ḥadīth, Sīrah or our Islāmic history to enhance our students' knowledge of their Islāmic heritage.
